How did you get started?
I got started with a fashion blog back when Instagram was not even popular yet, in 2011. I first used Instagram as a space for me to share my photos from my daily life, before I started seriously posting in it and curating the photos according to my blog's visual aesthetic. Since then, I have been posting about style, beauty and travel.
Where do you find inspiration?
I find it everywhere but especially when I'm travelling.
How do you decide what to share and what to keep private?
Generally, I will share anything that is in line with my personal brand and along the verticals of fashion (style), beauty and travel. I tend to combine fashion and travel photos as well. Anything else that falls out from those categories, I keep them private to myself.
Any tips and tricks?
I usually either shoot on my phone (for distance shots), and rely on my DSLR for bokeh or shots with depth of field, before I transfer the photos out to my phone via camera wifi for edit on my phone. When editing, I use the same filter for all photos to keep my feed looking consistent.
What camera and editing software do you use?
I use a Canon 100D, and for editing on my Mac, I use Lightroom as it is very quick and effective to edit photos by batch.
For my phone, I use primarily Vscocam, Snapseed for lighting and colour, and Face Tune if I need to remove out anything from the photo.
How would you describe your aesthetics?
White-based and high contrast, curating style and spaces with a monochrome look with some pops of colour!
Tell us something no one knows about you.
Some people may not realize but I have huge feet of size 40! And I can fit into men's shoes sometimes.
What’s been your favourite piece of work to date?
My travel story to Santorini! It's also one of my most popular posts on my blog.
Best thing about being a creator?
You get to exercise your creativity to translate a brand into your own aesthetic, and of course you get the manage your own time!
If you could give one piece of advice to the younger you what would it be?
Once you have found something which you love and have a passion for, pursue it with all you have and don't ever let it go, or let other people tell you otherwise!
