Each week, we feature a favourite collaboration between brand and creator, this week is the turn of @qmike and Deliveroo.
Deliveroo see influencer marketing as a way to grow trusted brand and campaign awareness within relevant targeted, and often niche, audiences. The aim of this campaign was to showcase some of the delicious food available to order from Deliveroo.
Mike Quyen was born in Vietnam, raised in Romania and now living in London, is renowned for his breathtaking photography of travel, fashion and London living.
“Usually for food, I do a lot of flat lays. So on Instagram flat lays are everywhere, and I'm obsessed with the arrangement. It has to be neat. I get inspired by the people I follow on Instagram. I follow a lot of content creators who do a lot of creative flat lays.
It's really funny, the shot doesn't look like it looks in the picture. If I sent you the original picture you would see that. If I didn't crop it you would see my room, with a lot of clothes on the floor. So what I used for that was a wooden pallet which I put on top of a chair, and then on top of the chair I just took a flat lay and then my friend was helping me with the hand modelling, I was holding my food with one hand and the camera in the other hand, and she was pretending to eat.”
The Finished Product
“For me, I love food shots. I love food. I live in London and I think before I came here I had a big list of restaurants I wanted to visit - around 200 restaurants and I've eaten at 120 of them. Working with Deliveroo meant I got to tick one more off the list.”
Thanks Mike and Deliveroo… When’s lunch?
